OUR FARM SITES

ABOUT OUR FARMS

Gather New Haven has a total of four farm sites throughout the New Haven community. Together our farms total over 30,000 square feet of land and produce roughly 8000 pounds of organically grown vegetables each year!

Phoenix Press Farm (15 James St), our second largest farm site, is located at the foot of a wind turbine and sits right on the edge of the Quinnipiac River. This farm is also home to our Tuesday night Farm-Based Wellness program.

Ferry Street Farm (613 Ferry St) sit side by side with our English Street Community Garden located at 220 English St. Ferry Street Farm has production happening in the field as well as growing in a 1000 sq. ft., heated greenhouse. It is also the site of our Farm Stand, Saturdays from 9am-1pm and many other events that are planned throughout the summer.

The Hill Farm  (170 Ward St) is our newest farm site. Breaking ground on this farm in 2017 was birthed from an exciting partnership with Career High School students and teachers as well as with community members to establish a new Farm-Based Wellness program site in the Hill neighborhood, enabling our wellness program to meet here on Thursday evenings.

Liberty Street Farm (66 Liberty Street) is looked after primarily by Mr. James, aka “Pops” aka “Bo Peep”, a neighbor of the garden and a pillar of our community. This farm is about ⅙of an acre.

In addition to our farms, we also share two collaborative farm sites. 34 Park St is the location of Connecticut Mental Health Center Court Yard Garden. We also partner with Southern Connecticut State University’s Student Garden.
