Assistant Camp Director

Gather New Haven seeks an Assistant Camp Director with Schooner
Camp, a summer day camp for ages 6-14. Camp offers land and sea based programming on New Haven’s unique coastline, based out of the Sound School and the Long Wharf Nature Preserve. The goal is to provide a dynamic and fun educational experience for 80 children each week. Activities pique an interest in coastal ecosystems, marine biology, inspire children to be stewards of their environment, provide a fun and safe summer experience and offer sailing instruction for older campers. Camp operates from late June to mid-August, from 9-3pm Monday-Friday. Ensure the safe operation, instruction, and communication of camp activities in accordance with the camp mission, policies and procedures.

Environmental Educator (Camp Counselor)

Gather New Haven seeks Environmental Educators for positions with Schooner Camp, a summer day camp for ages 6-14. Camp offers land and sea based programming on New Haven’s unique coastline, based out of the Sound School and the Long Wharf Nature Preserve. The goal is to provide a dynamic and fun educational experience for 80 children each week. Head Sailing Instructor/Waterfront Director for Summer
Camp

Gather New Haven seeks a Head Sailing Instructor/Waterfront Director to oversee and instruct the camp sailing program. The adventure sailing program is for youth ages 9-14 years old and is taught on 420s, Picos and Fun Boats. The program is a beginner and intermediate level introduction to sailing on the New Haven Harbor. Camp runs from late June to mid-August from 9am-3pm Monday through Friday every week. The camp is based out of Sound School in New Haven.

Leaders In Training & Environmental Educator

Gather New Haven seeks an Educator to run our Leaders In Training (LIT) program for youth ages 13-14 at Schooner Summer Camp. Camp incorporates land and sea based programming on New Haven’s unique coastline. The program goal is to provide structured leadership development, adventure, and stewardship for our oldest campers. Major components of the program should focus on positive youth development, leadership, problem solving, and activities that pique an interest in the Long Island Sound and foster a sense of stewardship. This person will also lead a group of 8-10 campers ages 10-12 years old in focused environmental education activities.

Sailing Instructor

Gather New Haven seeks Sailing Instructors for Schooner Camp teaching sailing to campers ages 9-14. Camp incorporates land and sea based programming on New Haven’s unique coastline. The camp’s goal is to provide a dynamic and fun educational experience for 80 children each week. Camp operates one week sessions from late June – mid-August from 9am-3pm, M-F out of Sound School, Long Wharf Nature Preserve and on the New Haven Harbor.
