John Valencia

Farm Assistant

John has worked with New Haven Farms since 2016. John is from Medellín, Colombia, where he worked in urban reforestation for several years.

Upon moving to Connecticut in 2005, John began working in the restaurant and construction industries. At New Haven Farms, John’s work as farm assistant involves maintaining farm sites across the city.

Within his work, John most enjoys cleaning up the sites, as he understands this work is not purely external, but, like all work at New Haven Farms, provides physical and mental benefits, keeping clean both the body and mind.
