Rock to Rock 2020: Red Beet Riders

WHO/WHAT
Rock to Rock is an Annual bike ride hosted by Common Ground High School, Urban Farm and Environmental Education Center. The ride supports countless local non-profits with a commitment to a greener, healthier environment and world.

This year, due to restrictions associated with COVID-19, the group ride has been cancelled, but the event will go on with each team member encouraged to commit to an individual rides during the week around Earth Day.

Gather New Haven shares a vested commitment to this vision. You can support us by riding as a member of our team and selecting ‘New Haven Land Trust/New Haven Farms’ as your organization and ‘Red Beet Riders’ as your team when you register to ride.

WHEN/WHERE
This year’s Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride will take place from April 22-25th. There are many different options for individual rides during that period, from the 5-mile family ride to the 40-mile.

There are even options for walking if you don’t have a bike! You can check out the schedule to learn more about the different rides and find something that’s right for you. Rock to Rock Ride Schedule

HOW TO REGISTER
Registration is open now; you can register to ride with us at rocktorock.donordrive.com and by entering ‘Red Beet Riders’ as your team name. Be sure to select ‘New Haven Land Trust/New Haven Farms’ as your cause organization! We hope you’ll join us!

HOW DOES THIS WORK/HELP
When you register to ride, it is our hope that you will choose to fundraise, reaching out to those in your networks via social media, family, and friends asking them to support you in your ride. Every little bit helps, $5 or $500. All funds raised will go directly toward the continuation of our programming.

WHY
This year’s Rock to Rock event marks the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. For many, this evokes a mix of sadness and hope. Sadness over the environmental horrors that we have faced since Earth Day’s creation 50 years ago, most recently the horrendous bush fires in Australia, but hope for the chance to move forward in better direction in the 50 years to come, in a greener, healthier, and brighter direction; this is the kind of future that Gather New Haven is working towards through our mission and work. We hope that this resonates with you, and that you will partner with us by registering to ride with us in Rock to Rock 2020!
